Re: Update on SICK CHILD
There is a time and place for doctors and there is a time and place for medicine. This is one of those times.
Bacterial pneumonia is VERY serious and can be life threatening. I learned that the hard way a couple of years ago when we thought my husband had the flu. We women all know how stubborn men can be about their health, so by the time I convinced him we needed medical help, he had bacterial double pneumonia and was placed immediately in ICU. He was not getting better and ended up on life support for several days. It was a very scary time for his family. The doctor did not know what kind of bacteria he was treating, so he kept an IV with a different kind of
Antibiotic in his system at all times.
It took several days of testing, but a simple urine test revealed he had Legionnaire's Disease, which can be deadly. Only one
Antibiotic treats Legionnaire's and that's arthymisin (I have no idea how to spell that)
He lost 37
pounds in two weeks. It took him months to recover. He has no memory of those two weeks in his life. Today he is about 90% of what he was before he got sick. He tires easily and sometimes forgets things he should remember. But he is still here and I am glad.
Where did he get it? We have no idea. He is a big golfer in this state and he might have picked it up on the golf course....standing water or sprinkler systems....maybe the dentist office......those water sprayers. Myself,I lean more toward Hurricane Katrina as the cause. Being close to the Gulf Coast, there was all kinds of debris blown in here.
Just love your son. Give him lots of hugs and kisses. He will be OK.
