Re: Low platelets?
Hi, Nicole
I don't agree that 'nothing can be done'. Yeah, nothing can be done in the allopathic realm when you think nothing can be done. Think 'something can be done' and you will begin to find alternatives...
To me it sounds like overall nutrition malnourishment. What is her diet like? Like EV said, leafy greens, other cruciferous veggies, pure water etc. An alkalizing diet is crucial here.
With something like this...she would do well to see a professional holistic/alternative doctor. My first guess would be a naturopath or chiropractor. Is she open to this?
Does she have high blood pressure? May be related to potential toxemia (which is the same or similar to pre-eclampsia)? I think the risk with preeclampsia is that it can occur later in pregnancy. There may be a link to HELLP too (it includes low platelet count).
I just did a quick search and there is a possibitlity of them coinciding.

The underlying problem tho involves mental/emotional factors. What fears/resistances is this pregnancy bringing up for her? (you or she may not be aware of these yet)
I would think blood issues tie into our life nourishment - is she being 'fed' by negative, limiting thought patterns as opposed to life-affirming ones? Does she feel *supported*?
It seems the pregnancy is briging up these issues - they were already there and with the stress of pregnancy they are very obvious now.
I don't mean to come off as alarming - you know I am pretty laid back - but she may be dealing with other imbalance factors here that are progressive as the pregnancy continues. And...you asked. :)
Love
Lori
