question on late ovulation

Hi there, I have a good friend of mine who has been trying to get pregnant for about a year...after a long time of using ovulation tests she realized she is ovulating very late in her cycle just a few days before she gets her period. Has anyone else had this problem. What can she do naturally? Her doctor immediately recommended some type of fertility drug (not sure which one) however she wants to avoid this option if possible. thanks for your input
