Tachyon Disks vs Tesla's Purple Plates

I've been reading lately about purple plates, and am inspired enough by peoples comments that I'm thinking of buying one....just to confuse the decision a tad I also came across these tachyon disks. Can someone tell me what the differences are between them, and if I'm looking to buy one which of the two are more worth while....??
