Colostrum for wounds

Has anyone ever use colostrum for an open wound? I have an open cut on my right forearm, I was hoping to find something to put on it so that it wouldn't leave a scar. I went to the health food store, and told a guy there, my problem. He gave me Colostrum 500 mg, told me to open one up, mix with a little water, and put in the wound, also told me to take them to, I didn't know anything about colostrum, so I just took his word for it, and bought a bottle. Now I'm wondering, if I did the right thing? If colostrum is a milk product, how can it heal an open wound?
