ACV skin burn

My wife has used ACV to remove 3 warts on the hand of my seven year old daughter. (ACV, cottonball, band-aid, rubber glove on over nite) This has been going for about 1 week. two of the warts are gone and the third (largest) is dissipating. One problem - the skin on my dughter's hand around the warts has turned pink and it looks as if maybe a layer or two of skin has peeled off - I don't want to damage her skin as she is so young, but my wife wants to keep the ACV treatment on until the wart is gone. Is the ACV damaging my daughter's skin?
