Re: From your leader.

You won't be unpopular with me. You raise good points. I believe both sides of the argument have good points.

I expressed my opinion over in the debate forum, within the context of a message to BnG, but one of the Agents of Distuption posted it here apparently to cause a commotion. Hopefully, students of history have retained recognition that it is not wise to divorce the content from the context:

"Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government." --- James Madison.

I think it's hard for an average person (*) , whatever that is, who has heard that substance X will make things good for them, to treat themselves in the absence of full knowledge about substance X. Most dont have the time to do the investigative work, which is why we hire doctors in the first place. Like plumbers, cops and clergymen, there are good doctors and "bad" doctors. On average, it could be true that regulation is best for the general population, to stop many from causing harm to themselves. Naturally, there are some who are above average and willing to make the time investment necessary for study and understanding, but these are few. In general, many like to have the freedom to make their own decisions, and I am one of them. But time constraints mean that this is not always practicable. Even the experts, who have devoted a lifetime to study, don't know it all. The law of God's Nature seems to be that the more we know, the less we understand - at least so wrote Dr. Szent Gyorgyi.

Some seem to have a habit of taking my comments out of context, for their own self-perceived gain in taking a shot at me. In reality, they only discredit themselves. Those who have attempted to prosecute me, have actually prosecuted themselves.

(*) on average, a person has one boob and one testicle; shows how inapplicable the concept of "averages" can be.
