CS Batch was Clear, then Turned Bright Yellow Later

Hi All,

I made a batch of CS the other day. It looked really good, very clear, not a hint of yellow.

I then put it into some brown glass bottles. These bottles had held something else previously but I had washed and boiled them for a long time, thinking that would sterilize them.

I went to use some CS last night and the water had turned bright yellow, almost highlighter yellow.

What could this be? The water started out perfectly clear and then something happened in the bottle. Neither of my bottles were exposed to sunlight, so I am guessing there is some sort of contamination? Yes?

Any hints on what to do in my next batch? Do I need to sterilize my bottles better? How do I go about doing that?

Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated. That yellow color was scary! I don't want it to happen again!
