Re: Oregano Essential Oil for BURNS

I have a friend that used oregano to treat a 3rd degree burn. The pain left her immediately and the burn healed with never a blister and very quickly. I was amazed! I would never have thought to use oregano on fresh burn... Oregano is a powerful healer for sure! Has anyone else used oregano for burns or other skin conditions?

NOTE: She used a pure therapeutic-grade oregano essential oil.

Below is the text she got the idea from:

From the book; The Cure is in the Cupboard: Oregano

Burns: The old homeopathic adage of "treating like with like" certainly applies to the use of oil of oregano with burns. This oil, when applied topically, produces a hot sensation, and yet, it is highly effective when applied directly upon burns.

Oil of oregano's potent anti-inflammatory powers are readily evident by the fact that it immediately halts the swelling/pain which typically occurs in burns. Although there may be discomfort initially dramatic improvement in the pain and swelling will result from its application. Furthermore, the oil helps halt blistering. Perhaps of greatest importance is the fact that sterility will be created within the burn. This is critical, because infection is the major cause of post-burn complications, and this is especially true of third degree burns, the type that require hospitalization. Oil of oregano would save thousands of lives each year by preventing infection, if it were used in hospital burn wards.

Treatment Protocol: Simply apply oil of oregano to the burn as soon as possible after injury. Repeat application two or three times daily or as often as is needed to curb pain. If the burn is severe and fails to heal rapidly, see your physician immediately.
