cll-cancer of the lymphnoids

My brother-in-law was diagnosed 7 years ago with cll. This past weekend had to have his spleen removed-many complications. He is not too open to natural healing, or at least hasn't been up till now. But the Dr's are saying chemo isn't helping. I am trying to get him on the esiac tea and more research on the Pau d'arco tea is necessary first. But I wondered it anyone else has used these products to fight cll. He is having trouble with his liver today, the dr's aren't sure what is happening, but I wondered if anyone knows, if it would be harmful for him to do the liver cleanse as his liver is now working for 2 organs. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.
