Yes - every herb, root, bark, leaf and flower contains chemicals. These chemicals travel through the blood and are absorbed into tissue. Different chemicals work in different parts of the body - just like cleaning a greasy stove with ammonia will work but cleaning it with bleach does not work - however, the bleach will remove stains from clothes whereas the ammonia will not. Some chemicals work good together - like bleach and detergent - while others - like bleach and ammonia can be fatally toxic. Same things with herbs - the RIGHT combination is magical - while the WRONG combination can be deadly.
