Anyone heard of Synthroid?

My doctor just put me on Synthroid / Levothroid for my thyroids. I'm trying to learn more about what it is and what it will do for me.

Of course all the WebMD type sites praise it and only tell me what symptoms it will treat.

Can anyone tell me any *unbiased* information about it? Have you ever taken it? etc...
