Iodine Loading Test

Is it possible to do this Iodine Loading Test at home?
How do you proceed? Where to buy the test?
For the moment I could not start on the Iodoral because I am travelling, but my brother has done so, starting 31st March. He is now on 25 mg/day. He reports clarity of mind, increased energy, softer skin on the arms, bad pain in left knee which disappeared after taking salt. I am just painting with Iodine Tincture with no ill/good effects so far.
How many drops should I paint? Should I paint again as soon as the colour has disappeared?
