if you are going to make lugols, put your potassium Iodide in the container you are going to make it in. then just put a little bit of water in the bottle, like ten percent or so and make a super-duper strong KI solution. then put the Iodine in. the Iodine goes into solution much quicker the stronger the KI is. so instead of 24 hours if you put the I2 in last after all the water, it will dissolve in minutes. then add the rest of the water.

also, i dont know if its 85ml or 100ml of water you need, but i do know if it is mixed right, it will result in exactly 100ml of Lugols in the bottle. if it were me, i would mark the bottle i was using and measure how much water i used to get to that point. Tweet
