Thank you, High on water, for your response! That made me feel great. i have similar thoughts on spirituality, that it is based on physical systems in a very real way... I myself connect spirituality with the .... sorry to bring up distasteful topics, but.... colon -- the large intestine. That organ seems to be involved in functions of "letting go," and the New York Times ran an article on the great degree of connection between the central and enteric (intestinal) nervous systems... also I notice that a lot of "personality" challenges seem to stem from bowel trouble... not having proper "boundaries" and so forth, and also Depression and anxiety in all forms. I have read old medical journals that talked about treating anxiety and Depression with diet... thus via the bowel, essentially... also it seems people were more open to fasting in those days? (1970's?)... anyway I know that when my colon is OK I have no depression/anxiety and I feel "spiritual".... To most discussions about spirituality which I hear people engaging in, which do not necessarily reference the body, I apply, to very interesting effect, my own physiological exegesis. I feel people's intuitive expressions about "spirituality" can be revealing of the workings of the body (perhaps especially the bowel). People seem to stress out about spirituality because they don't realize it's based in the body and it doesn't mean you are somehow wrong if you don't have it, or don't have it very much! I would be interested to know about Cayce's ideas about the connection of spirituality and the endocrine system... I haven't read as much about the glands as I have about the bowel.

I am encouraged by your advice to look into iodine... my only question, I have looked at one Iodine website you mentioned in another post, and each bottle is $20. Of course health is priceless, but is there a way to find it less expensively?... Probably not, but I just thought I would ask.

Thanks again for writing! I am feeling more positive about this week's fast! I know I need it so much, and I have had only 30-hour fasts in the past 2 weeks and have really felt the lack of deeper healing that comes from a merely slightly longer fast. As I say, I have a hard time fasting mainly because my life-style is very solitary and I really need people! Fasting is so hard for me to do all alone. I feel like the fears get to me and come in when I am all alone, in a way they do not when I am with others. The fears actually make me physically sick, it seems. Anyway, right now I just need words of positive encouragement and support to reach my goal of a 48 to 54-hour fast (and to break this GENTLY, as my body instructs me to). I have to admit, I do not feel solidly committed to this fast, which I say because the way to get to the spirit of commitment is to admit it first of all when you do not feel it! So this is very positive for me to express. I wish I had more ability to write now, but I have to close. Maybe I will be able to write more later, or tomorrow. I have the idea of beginning this 54-hour fast tomorrow morning.
... I am pretty shy about sharing about myself but I feel good with the start I have made,
