something white could be bone fragments. they generally work their way out, but sometimes have to be taken out. you should have had enough healing by now and you would not have to scoop out food particles and the area should not hurt much, if at all. maintaining a good blood socket is crucial for the first 2 or 3 days. after that, it toughens up and contiues to get stronger. it is your barrier to infection. if you think you may have lost it or that infection may have gotten in at that time, you need to have the dentist look at it, because he may have to open it back up. in my opinion, they should not charge you, but they might.
