Re: Digestive system and pH level

Ah, Neo... it is such a long story... I have given you the SuperExtraLight FeatherWeight condensed version :-).

Yes, I am active on the Stoll site. Like you, I have different views on SR as well. But in a strange way, I would not be at the point I am at today if it had not been for that site. Also in a strange way, looking back, had I known about the minerals involved in the digestive process, I strongly believe that a Power Whole Foods Diet geared toward improving digestive enzyme minerals would have been a slower, more tolerable way to get where I needed to go.

As for saying I was taking too much... that was referring to the minerals. [After the research in the first post above, I no longer put much weight on the alkaline/acid explanation of things.] What I think happened was that after three weeks of the multi-mineral, my digestive enyzmes started working again and my body began uptaking minerals it had been waiting for from the food I was taking in. And thinking the detox symptoms were because I was deficient, I gave it additional minerals on top of that. I think I should have cut back on the mineral supplements at that point, but instead what I did was take even more.

How do I think MSM helped... Sheer speculation, but...
-The multi-mineral has MSM in it, but only 30% DV. But the combined effect of all the minerals in the supplement seems to have gotten my digestion back on track last fall.
-When I started taking additional MSM in February, my periods came back after 8 months gone. Sulfation plays a key role in formation and breakdown of estrogen/progesterone.
-When I started taking MSM in February, my hyperthyroid symptoms ended. Sulfation plays an important role in at least three thyroid enzymes, and sulphur is part of thyroglobulin.
There's more but it is just too complicated to explain.

I put the research out there thinking someone else might find it useful. You will have to decide if any of it applies to you.
