Re: Has anyone had their iron count go up after amalgam removal?
I don't know, it's possible, as mercury also suppresses the thyroid hormone. Anything can happen due to mercury and being low in iron could be one of them.
Iron supplements can sometimes be a bad move. I had a friend that was always low in iron and was put on them and she got ill. She had heart palpiations, the lot. Nausea as well.
you may also need to check your diet, to make sure you're consuming enough iron rich foods, like red meat, liver, eggs, etc. It maybe the mercury too, but it could be missing out on certain foods. This friend by the way never ate enough iron rich foods, and continued having problems with anaemia.
Also, candida can be an issue. Candida usually happens in any immune defiency problem, or toxicity. Candida can also prevent proper absorption of nutrients from food, which can then make a person anemic. You may want to check all possibilities. Going on a candida diet, plus making sure you include all the healthy fats/proteins etc, is a good start.
Amalgam removal goes without saying! That's a very good idea, so long as you make sure you go to a good reputable biologic dentist who will do it properly.
