HELP!! I think I have gum disease at 26!

Hello,
I am very concered because my gums on the upper right back portion of my teeth are red and swollen. They also look like there is a distint dark red line closer to the tooth iteself. I had thought this pain I was feeling was from my wisdom teeth so I had them out a few months ago and the pain is still there. For some reason I thought the problem was from pressure of my wisdom teeth. Well I am really concered as to what to do because we don't have insurance and they are wanting to charge me 800 for a cleaning. My 14 month old is also having teeth issues but he has cavities. We are looking for insurance but nothing is affordable. I want to cry! I have always taken pretty good care of my teeth. I use organic aloe vera toothpaste by kiss my face and I floss except I can never do a good job with flossing in the back. I brush my teeth for a standard 3 min, but I never go get cleanings at the dentist because of the cost. I called the office and they said a cleaning would probably fix my problem but I don't have 800.00 to shell out. What do I do??? I applied for insurance though the state and they said my husband makes too much money- he only makes 40k per year and we are scrapeing by with it. I don't know what to do for myself or for my son. I feel helpless and frustrated. How can they get away with chargeing such high prices? It seems un fair. Who can pay that? Well is there a home remedy or anything I can do? Please help! I don't want my teeth to start falling out.
