Re: Eliminate FRUCTOSE
Yes, this high-fructose crap is really amazing. I've been in the US for a month now and where there would be normal
Sugar in there, here always high-fructose syrup is added.
Seems the producers are really really crazy about that stuff here.
On the other hand, I had started to eat lactose and glucose before I moved to the US for the added calories (had gone down to 62 kg from around 80 and was pretty much on the border to starvation). Now - you just cant get neither of both here - either not at all (lactose) or not at the very sensible prices I was used to (around 1€ to 1.5€/pound).
I fear I might not take well to fructose either (but am not sure, because I did not dare "test" it with a higher quantity of fructose for quite some while now).
When considering fructose, you have to keep in mind also that the ordinary
Sugar ("cane sugar") consists of two moieties, one glucose, one fructose - and it will be split into those two molecules (honey is actually also cane sugar, but already split into glucose and fructose by enzymes from the bees collecting it).
Mostly the glucose/fructose mix is taken up better than fructose alone, though (which can explain your less intense reaction to cane sugar).
