Re: E. Faecalis Safety Studies

"By the way......Enterococcus faecalis is derived from fecal matter. Bet you cant wait to take your threelac now."

I am no fan of Threelac. However, your statement while technically correct, is far from fully illuminating. In fact, many, if not most, of the benefical lactobateria that we use everyday as probiotics were originally cultured from fecal material in the intestines of healthy human beings. It just makes sense. If you are looking for an original source of benefical lactobacterial that is capable of permanently colonizing human intestines, then the intestines of a healthy human being is the place to look.
While the original source for the bacteria may have have come from a human intestine many years ago, the packaged probiotics you take today have been produced under strict laboratory conditions, and probably haven't even been touched by a human being.

One species of bacteria may have a number of different strains. One strain of a bacteria may easily be killed by a antibiotic, while a different strain of that very same bacteria may be highly resistant to the same antibiotic.

It is possible that your post will have an effect on the uninformed on this board.
From me, your post evokes only a deprecating and dismissive laugh.
