Re: kombucha and nursing
My first thought was a couple of
ounces shouldn't be a problem, but then thinking about it, yes it is good for digestion, etc., but it does have some detox effects also. So, would it be wise to stir up possible toxins that could end up in babies milk? Only you know how clean you are:)!
A question would be also, do you make your own from organic tea and/or do you trust the source you are buying from? If non-organic tea is used, it does contain fluoride and I would not think that would be a good idea for Mom or baby!
Another caution would be the possible allergic effect it can have on some, although this is usually something that can be overcome by additional cleansing. If you have been using it already on a continuous basis, I would not think it is a problem, but if you are just starting again, or for the first time, I might want to use come caution. Possibly start with 2 ozs one meal, see what happens, and add to additional meals slowly.
I know this didn't answer your question directly, but maybe give you some things to think about. I guess an additional question would be, what are you trying to accomplish with taking Kombucha? Hope this didn't add to the further confusion, somethings are sure an individual call!
