In my own mind I think the tree was just that. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I don't think that God wanted us to have to decide what is good and what is evil. Judgement. I think God desperatly did not want us to be judgemental. Well we did it anyway didn't we? What a mess. Everyone sitting in judgement on everyone and thing.
