COLLOIDAL SILVER for Sinus Infection: What type do you use that seems to do the job?
Dear all,
Can anyone provide some guidance on the specific TYPE (e.g., ionic, non-inonic elemental, Mild Silver Protein [MSP] version) and PPM and QUALITY and AMOUNTS -- and maybe also BRAND -- of
Colloidal Silver that you have found to be SAFE and EFFECTIVE at getting rid of a bad sinus infection? Something that maybe can help me clear up my bad sinus infection?
I have been finding it very difficult to obtain solid, accurate, scientific information on these points -- and I am in great need of the truth; my health may depend upon it.
I have a bad sinus infection for a couple of months now -- tests show that it variously contained or contains staph aureus, staph coagulase neative, and strep viridans. I am allergic to most or maybe all
Antibiotics , and am desparately seeking a safe, effective holistic way to get rid of this deep-seated sinus infection (I also have polyps, which may be complicating the matter by hindering or blocking proper drainage).
The PROPER
Colloidal Silver , it seems to me, may be the cure that I'm looking for. But what kind?
I've already researched and found loads of information about
Colloidal Silver on the net -- some of it apparently legit, some of it a legit-sounding pitch with no solidity to it, and lots of it confusingly contradictory. You can see some of my posts about my findings in the SINUS forum. Well, I think I have an inkling of ALMOST which way to go. But now I see in this COLLOIDAL SILVER forum several people posting about their using HOME-MADE colloidal silver, or even STORE-BOUGHT colloidal silver -- but apparently nobody -- so far as I've yet read -- is clarifying the KEY POINTS that I've learned are NECESSARY to clarify in order to make the right choice:
Can someone please address these key points in regard to the versions of colloidal silver that they'e found to be effective (especially in regard to treating sinus-infection):
---------------------------------------------------
Key points re colloidal silver:
(a) size of particles,
(b) concentration of particles in solution,
(c) ions, or elemental atoms/molecules, or the latter encased in Mild Silver Protein,
(d) shape of particles (e.g., smooth and globular, or jagged or spikey),
(e) even-ness of particle-dispersion in solution, or tendency of particles to be clumpy in solution; and, lastly ,
(f) type of bottling used: specifically, I see that most brands come in GLASS bottles, but one that I've found (Mesosilver, which may have good qualities) comes in PLASTIC bottles -- and I recall having read that some types of plastics, used in bottling such things as drinking-water, are said to leech dangerous chemicals into their contents -- so would that also apply to the this particular colloidal silver product?
PLUS: What about the puzzling (to me) claims that I've read that:
(a) only ELEMENTAL colloidal silver kills pathogens,
(b) only IONIC colloidal silver kills pathogens; and
(c) only ELEMENTAL colloidal silver will not react, and therefore will not be neutralized in its pathogen-killing capabilities, with a saline solution (such as for lavaging the sinuses), and
(d) only IONIC colloidal silver will be instantly neutralized by saline solution (or possibly by fluids in the sinuses) or in the stomach by hydrochloric acid -- that when silver IONS are placed in a saline solution or introduced into the the stomach's hydrochloric acid, the chemeical reaction would promptly convert the silver IONS to Silver CHLORIDE-- and that Silver Chloride has NO effect on pathogens?
-------------------------------------------------
Maybe you can understand my puzzlement.
I've been lavaging (irrigating) the sinuses (which usually clears them for awhile) with, variously, prescription-bottled saline solution; a solution of a pinch of sea-salt in about a cup of filtered tap-water; either of the above plus a little aloe vera liquid or gel (preferably the kind that does not contain
preservatives ); and sometimes one of the above with a small amount (1 to a few eyedroppersful) of colloidal silver.
About the colloidal silver that I'd been using, I first had some "Silvicidal 350" (350ppm; I later learned it contained Mild Silver Protein silver and stopped using it for 2 simple reasons: 1- It ran out! 2 - I've been told that MSP should NEVER be used for sinuses as the MSP may be contaminated with pathogens and can also spread pathogens!). Then I switched -- not being sure of which way to go -- to "Sovereign Silver" (10ppm, IONIC silver, extremely fine particles and extremely fine dispersion, according to the company).
And now I've also been eye-droppering in maybe 1 ro 3 or 4 eyedroppersful of pure Sovereign Silver directly into my nostrils (and thus sinuses, as I do this while lying on my back and head tilted back) once ot twice a day. Plus the lavaging (as above) 1 to 3 times a day.
But I have an additional concern about the colloidal silver part of this treatment. Has anybody had this particular experience, and can they offer any thoughts about it?
Specifically, my sinus infection is most pronounced in the upper left nostril and sinus in that area, even including a more or less constant ache in or at the back of the left eye; I've found that when I eyedropper-into the nostrils (head back, as I've said) the pure (not diluted) colloidal silver solution, after a moment it causes a feeling of almost unbearable "burning" and "inflammation" at the back of the left eye, and sometimes I have to get up and try to irrigate the sinuses again using just a weak saline solution to soothe it. (Note: Last evening, I noticed that when I waited about 45 minutes after the first application, and did it again, there was very little "burning" the second time.)
Is the solution causing damage to the back of my eye-area? Is it healing "raw" or infected tissue there? Am I in danger because of these symptoms? Is this infection headed toward my brain? Should I NOT drip the pure (undiluted) colloidal silver into my nostrils/sinuses? Or is the colloidal silver appropriate and helping me?
Also: Should I be using IONIC colloidal silver there or ELEMENTAL colloidal silver there?
Well, there you have it. Any thoughts on these points would be appreciated!
