Hunch back or bump on Mom

Hello,
My Mother has a noticable hunch back its processed slowly but I rubbed her back today after church and felt the lump more on the one side then the other. I can tell this is getting worse. She acted like she did not hear me when I asked her about it.
She is only 64.
Whe she went to the bathroom I asked my Dad he said becareful she is embarressed of it. So I dropped it.

I was trying to find information online regarding this, what it is caused from?
Is there any cure?
