Faith and the Mountain - Quado
I think this article really serves to help people who are starting on their journey back to health to have faith in their committment to keep going until they succeed in the pursuit to vibrant health.
Faith and the Mountain
What mountain would you take on if you had no fear and no doubt, if you had complete belief in yourself and all of the help and love that is there for you, surrounding you in every moment? If you had complete faith that you could reach the top of the mountain, which mountain would you climb?
But know that faith is not the absence of challenge; it is the strength to continue in spite of the challenges. Every road has its obstacles, every climb has its sharp rock faces. Having faith means picking yourself up when you fall, finding new and creative ways up the mountain when an avalanche blocks the path you were on, and having the courage and self-belief to continue in spite of what others say or do, fueled by the deep faith and courage that beats in your heart.
For even though you have made a commitment, even though you feel the energies of spirit at your side as you proceed, life is always full of challenges against which to prove yourself, and the universe moves on a timetable of its own. Too often people quit in despair, believing that they have been deserted, when they were only a few steps away from the new passage that would have allowed them to continue their climb.
Faith is more than the absence of doubt. It is a new powerful friend you will get to know on your climb, someone to be beside you in the darkest night and howling storm. Faith is a companion deep and true who always whispers in your ear to continue, to open up your creativity and look at things a new way.
Do not ask that your life be easy. What is to be gained by easiness? Ask that you may be filled with faith to take on the highest mountains, growing stronger with each step, reaching down within your heart for more and more courage and love, learning to love yourself in the process, with each new handhold, with each new piece of territory gained, loving even the way you handle setbacks and overcome obstacles.
Do this, and when you reach the top of that mountain you had committed to climb, you will feel the glow of true accomplishment, as you look at the scars on your hands with a certain pride, knowing that you earned each one. And then, after you bask in this glow for a time, you will see another mountain, even taller than the one you have just conquered, and you will set off again, down this mountain, across the long valley, to stand again at the foot of a mountain glorious, where you will call your friends faith, courage and love to gather at your side and set off again.
After all, this is life. To see the mountain before you, dig deep into yourself and commit to taking it on, no matter what. This is your mountain, and you know that if you can climb this mountain, whether it is overcoming a habit or addiction, changing the way you approach money or love, taking on a new enterprise, correcting a wrong, whatever it is, you know that if you can do this, you will be a new person as you stand at the top. If you can do this, if you can climb this mountain, you can do anything.
And yes, you can.
Here is a little prayer for today
I see the mountain before me and know that I am fully capable of the climb. I gather now my friends around me as I prepare for this climb, as I commit myself to taking on this task, in full knowledge that it will require me to dig into my deepest resources and pull out all that I have and am.
I ask now my great friends faith, love and courage to be my companions, throwing down the rope to pull me up, catching me when I fall, and always encouraging me to go forward.
I feel the love within me, lifting me to my highest level. I feel my peaceful center glow inside, as I fill with the sure knowledge of my success. I know that much is asked of me, but I also know that I am enough, I am fully capable, I have everything that it takes to make this climb. I pledge my commitment and know that I will continue until I succeed.
I am the power of love, faith and courage. I am.
