Hida Scan results proves liver flushing helped my dtr
My daughter in law almost had her gb out several years ago. She was suffering the pain, nausea, and other symptoms that we all know too well when it comes to a congested liver. She was going for her preops and found out she was pregnant, so she had to forego the surgery. I talked to her at length regarding flushing and she decided to try it. Her HIDA scan at that time was 23%. Normal is about 30% if I am not mistaken.
Well she flushed for the next several years and got out tons of stones with each flush. She recently went for over a year and did not flush.......she felt fine and did not see the need for maintenance flushes. Well, the old symptoms came back with the back pain, black tongue from bile, nausea, diarrhea and all. She decided that she needed another HIDA scan and maybe to remove her gb. She went for it the other day and the scan results were 52% proving that the flushes worked for her and improved her gb function. The doctor saw no reason to remove a perfectly good gb, and could not see why the scan was better now than 4 years ago. He had never seen an improvement before.
She has since decided that flushing regularly is the way to go afterall and will flushe this weekend.
So moral of the story is to flush routinely with the maintenance flushes.
