CBS hatchet job on supplements

i just watched CBS news' hatchet job on the natural supplement industry. they repjorted the congress was about to pass a wide ranging bill that would regulate the supplement industry in 1992 but so many people wrote to them they decided not to. an "expert" interviewed declared this was a tragic mistake, he then went on to say since the the gov had spent millions on studies to see how affective herbs are and had found "NONE OF THE HERBS OR VITAMINS STUDIED WERE FOUND TO BE AFFECTIVE AT ALL"!!!! thats an actual quote from the program.

they interviewed some guy whose name i didn't catch, the president of the natural supplement industry or something. he spoke for about three seconds.

they also lumped herbal supplements like echinacea with scams like trimspa.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE LARGEST ADVERTISING CONTRIBUTOR TO THE NEWS CASTS IS THE PHARMA CORPS!!!!!!!!!!

its was a hatchet job extraordinaire. an uninformed person watching would have thought the herbal industry was trying to make money while selling worthless junk.
