Your dilemma reminds me of a story my Naturopath, who is a vegetarian, but not raw vegan, told me some time ago. "Doc" studied in India for a while. A group of American researchers came to where he was studying searching for answers to why the Hindi vegetarians rarely suffered from a B-12 deficiency, while many American vegetarians had serious problems. Doc attached himself to these researchers and found that the conclusion they reached was that there were enough insects and animal parts in the average Indian diet to provide sufficient B-12. American food was less apt to contain the insects and other animal waste and did not supply enough B-12. Further research revealed that more affluent vegetarians in India had problems similar to Americans because their food was of "higher" quality.
Sorry I can't offer you any help, but I thought the reason for your problem might give you a smile. Maybe we should start a Eat Bugs For Health forum. My experience has been that sub-lingual B-12 is best (more appetizing than a juicy cockroach at any rate)
