Confusing Symptoms

I've had a scope down my throat which showed esophogeal spasms but the barium swallow showed no reflux. The scope showed no bacteria either. My main problem is a horrendous pain in my throat with the feeling that something is lodged in there. It's driving me crazy. I have a slight amount of burping as well, which I never did before. How can I have these symptoms with no reflux? I was on Protonix and Librax for a month but they did no good so I stopped taking them (been off them for 2 weeks) Could these spasms be from stress and unresolved emotions? Could anyone give me any suggestions as to what I can do about these awful throat spasms? Thanks so much.
