The bananas and oranges are "NOT" Complexed Carbohydrates, so they may not provide much Lasting Energy for the muscles !
He may try eating a can of sardines an hour before the race, but not with any fruit !
And then Drink some Blackstrap Molasses with Lemon juice and a pinch of epsom Salt before the race, and if he has some lime water this should be added !
And these may help supply more Complexed Carbohydrates which may provide Energy which may Last longer than the bananas or orange juice !
