Re: Fresh cut/stitches: How to reduce scarring?

The recent cut I had I covered with cayenne pepper and a band aid until it sealed... less than 12 hours, then I added olive oil with the cayenne for about the next 24 hours. Then I left the wound exposed 24 x 7 and only put oil on it when it looked to have dry edges until it seemed to smooth out. In about a week, only I knew where the wound had been... no scar.

So no, I did not keep it wet 24 x 7, but I did attentively care for it. It was my first experience with treating a wound this way... it will not be my last, whether mine or someone else's. The experience took me to school :-)

Hope that helps
