Re: URgent!! someone please help! Toddler having tooth decay. I have posted to several forums and no one can help

Are there any inherited dental problems on either side of the family? In my family dentinogenesis imperfecta runs in my mother's family. This is a condition where the tooth has little or no enamel thus is prone to decay. I think it's good that you're brushing his teeth. When my daughter was his age, I just wiped her teeth with a damp washcloth after each feeding. Fortunately, she didn't inherit the bad teeth. The worn enamel won't grow back but take comfort that these are his baby teeth, not his permanent ones. It sounds like you're doing everything right but I have to ask--does he drink juice in a bottle? If so, this can create the same problems that a bottle of milk can. I know you said that you didn't have any dental insurance (I know what that's like--been there done that!) but IMO, you really should get him to a pediatric dentist. If it weren't for the decay problem, I would otherwise suggest waiting until he's older but you really need to nip this in the bud or it could cause more problems down the road.
