Re: Old Urine?

Hi Tainter! I saw your question and thought I would give you the good news. The answer is, there is NO urine too old. In fact, the older the better, that's the only rule you need follow. Well that, and don't drink it if it's more than 15-20 minutes old (although I've safely drunk urine that had been sitting on my counter for a few days before I knew about that one...and I've also found that the older the urine that I drop under my tongue, the more effective it is in curing illness as quickly as possible). But better safe than sorry I suppose. So I'm sure you're asking, how does she know the answer to the "age-old" question? First off, I read on the internet (somewhere on shirley's wellness cafe) about a mother who kept some urine for seven years, then used it to completely cure her son's second or third degree burn in a few hours using urine packs. After I read that, I was sold and figured I'd try it myself, so I could know from first-hand experience. I've been saving gallons of mine and my fiance's urine for a year now in large glass jars without refrigeration, and I expect to save it and more for many more years, because I can tell you, old urine is the truth! A couple of months ago I rediscovered soaking my hair with urine, massaging my scalp with urine, etc. during hair wash time. I pulled out some of that year-old pee to do the job. And BOY was the job done...the "job" being the quintupling of my hair's growth rate. I swear my hair grew something like three inches in two weeks. And I have locs ("dreads" for those who don't understand) so this is very significant, considering that even with my hair growing quickly and healthily, it can take a little while to show length because the process of locing involves the hair shrinking up onto itself until it can't shrink anymore. So what I'm saying is, even with the shrinkage, my hair looks three inches longer in two weeks time! Another way to put it in perspective for you: my hair appeared the same length for my entire first year locing. This is uber significant to me people.

The skin benefits of old urine are without number and question. Whatever the benefits of fresh urine (externally), they increase exponentially the older the urine gets. My only suggestion is to save really clear, tasteless or near tasteless urine for such long periods of time, because the only thing I've noticed with some of our gallons is that they undergo some type of reaction after a few months that causes some of them to become very dark, nearly black, and some have something white floating at the bottom of them. Some became two-toned, blackish brown and the bottom and orange at the top (really quite fascinating to see). I'm convinced that they're still okay to use and fully intend to use them in a few years (you'd be amazed at how slowly you use a gallon jar of urine!), but I'll admit I'm most comfortable using the urine that I can still see through after a year's time. But I believe in the above-mentioned story, the mother used some of that dark frothy urine with her burned son. I definitely remember her mentioning that. Also, it doesn't smell as strongly as you would think after so much time. It smells strongly, but the smell is of ammonia.

I sure hope that helps Tainter, and anyone else who might've been wondering! Long live pee (pun intended)! :-)
