Re: Olive Oil has a tendency to stain

Yesterday I spent time in my local health food store examining nearly every oil I've seen suggested for pulling (after 6 days of pulling I noticed my teeth were looking yellow and any stains seemed to be more visible).

Every oil had some "yellow" tint to it, Olive Oil, of course, has many different shades depending on the particular one. My conclusion was coconut oil is the clearest. The nutrionist at the store agreed, however, he was perplexed as to why any of the oils would stain teeth. I myself, would think that the oil would eventually help remove any stains (ie, esp those that accumulate between teeth from having been a smoker--quit in Sept but have not had my teeth cleaned by dentist yet).

Anyway, this was enough to make me want to give up pulling as my teeth seemed to appear a bit whiter the first couple days, then "yuck yellow".

Anyone else with any ideas as to why this would happen?
