Beets and black stools-from the beets or old liver bile?

Both my husband and I have been drinking juiced beets (with other juiced veggies) however my stools have been jet black while his stools are dark red brown. Can these black stools be caused by old bile? Usually my stools are light yellow and I digest fats poorly, my husbands digestion is great. Any info would be great. thanks!
