Absence of menstruation can't be good!

Who here thought that it was a great thing that we no longer had a period? I sure did. How wonderful to be rid of my annoying period. WOW! Looking back on it now, I feel kind of stupid. What was I thinking? My period is the essence of what makes me a woman. Without a cycle, what good could that possibly have on my body? An even better question should be what harm is not having a cycle doing to my body? It wasn't until my boyfriend asked me that very question that got me thinking along those lines. He was actually the one who found this forum, and thank god for that. I remember the day I started reading the posts, and started to cry. It literally was like I had personally written each post myself. If anyone has a friend that is on this IUD or has a pill or patch that causes absence of a menstrual cycle, advise them to look at this forum. Better yet, sit them down in front of your computer and make them read it with you. I was very skeptical when my boyfriend first broached the subject. (and I do mean broached carefully if you know what I mean) I was absolutely in shock for a good day or so after reading the entire forum's posts. I immediately called my doc's office and set an urgent care apt. for the first available time which was the next day at 1 PM.
