Lamest. Post. Ever. It's not character assassination when it's true, and when someone is a cracked fanatic who tries to impose his ideology on his fellow citizens, it speaks to the validity of his cracked crusade. Keep in mind that this guy is such an authoritarian control-freak that his most recent failed lawsuit was against an alternative healthcare blogger for the comments disparaging his efforts that the blogger's readers made. He tries to fund his efforts by suing his critics, and that if anything is one of the cardinal defining characteristics of a world-class kook. But then again, I suppose It's Okay If You're A Skeptic (IOIYAS). That you find his essays "very good" is analagous to a communist zealot who finds Joseph Stalin's stale polemics "inspiring".

How even fanatic skeptics can defend him is something I simply can't understand. Effective zealots don't countenance the compulsive wasting of their movement's financial resources, and that is the only thing that Barret's frivolous lawsuits end up achieving.
