It could be any number of parasites laying their eggs near the skin. If you can get them out - then by all means do so. Parasites like to find a safe nest for their eggs - and that safe place can be virtually anywhere in the body they can get to. Egg nests just under the skin are why some people who are parasite cleansing will find that larvae will actually exit through the skin - uncommon, but it does happen.
