Frankincense

I just bought 2 bottles of frankincense from 2 different makers. They look and smell completely different - can anyone enlighten me as to why the difference? This is the first time I've bought frankincense so I have no idea what it's suppossed to look/smell like. These are the differences: Brand #1 package says: frankincense (boswellia carterii) 15 ml 100% botanic, 50% pure resin. Origin: Somalia It is a medium/dark brownish-yellow in color and there is barely any scent. Price $16.99 Brand #2 package says: frankincense (boswellia carteri) 15 ml 100% pure essential oil. Does not state origin. It is colorless and has a more noticeable scent, although it is also mild. Price $36.99 I can't describe what they smell like except to say that they do not smell the same at all. It's not just that one is stronger smelling than the other but they actually smell completely different to my nose. Neither one particularly smells like "churchy incense" which is what I was expecting. Anyone know why the differences? Are there different types or different qualities? Pomona Tweet
