Re: antidepressants
Tim;
The Big Book states that doctors and medicine are God given, and as such, we can more than avail ourselves of what they have to offer. In fact, we would be fools for not doing so.
The trick is letting your doctor in on your condition. When I see a medical practitioner, I always make sure he knows I am an alcoholic. It is a critical bit of information they need to know.
As to your suspicion that you may be bi-polar, it is entirely possible. I am no doctor, I don’t know, but I have sponsored more than a few guys that were.
Get on whatever medication your doctor, informed of what and who you are, recommends. Anti-depressants don’t have a buzz like booze or dope. You don’t need to pick up another white chip for taking medicine to treat a real condition.
The last thing we want to do is nothing.
Ask God what course is wisest, and then move!
Your friend,
Richard
