Question re celiac testing

Sorry to sidetrack, but could you tell me how you were tested for celiac disease? Blood test? To what kind of a doctor did you go for the testing?

Just asking as that is on my to-do list for the new year. I have been wheat intolerant for years but I am questioning whether it might be more than that.
