drugs vs natural remedies

Guys,
i have been looking through websites on herpes. found this one:

go to publications, then treatments.

it talks about the trials on reduction of shedding while on the drug. it seems convincing.

i am a strong believer in natural remedies. however, with herpes i am just about to give up on treating myself with different vitamins and lauricidin. nothing seem to beat herpes. when the stress comes into my life, absolutely nothing helps!!! i take vitamins continuously, i work out, i dont drink coffe etc and nothing helps.stress and herpes win.

stress is unavoidable with my type of work (i would not want to change my job as i am enjoying what i am doing).but I need to figure something out to help beat the H beast in me.
i am planning to go on Valtrex or Acyclovir in about two months(after i take another month or two of Lauricidin and if it fails to stop the outbreaks for at least couple of months). i cannot take the OBs anymore. in the last 2 months 3 outbreaks!!!
i would like to hear from you about pros and cons of taking chemical drugs VS vitamins and natural immune system remedies.
