Hi Vanmel, I have big fibroids, I look 4months pregnant and have done for some time. I guess that means I've stopped them growing bigger, if only they'd reduce in size! A friend of mine had the embolization procedure done. I was fascinated to hear her talk about it. She said that she would only have done it out of desperation, but was in so much pain and didn't want the hysterectomy. What most interested me was that she said it's not a cure, it gets rid of the biggest fibroids and helps to manage the bleeding, but she believes the fibroids will come back and she's not sure what she'll do then.
I don't have much pain with my fibroids, my main issue is the bleeding and size. I've gone up a size since being diagnosed and I tell some people why, but not everyone. Most people think I'm pregnant, which was difficult when I was recently looking for a job, but luckily I found one. Hope you're going well, keep in touch. These forums are great support networks.
