It came in contact with it somehow. A cat could pick it up at the vet or a groomer, especially if the vet doesn't keep the place clean and had an FIV cat on the table and then put her cat on the table.

No contact with other cats that she knows of. Unless she lives on a second floor apartment, good chance a stray cat could've been in the window. Even if the cat is fixed, strays can still come around.

Someone could've petted another cat, got the virus on them and then touched her cat. Tweet
