Re: Annointing with oil - Ayurvedic health benefits
I just finished reading "The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies" by Vasant Lad.
Most all the remedies included oils. Oils of all types, shoved into various orifices.
One section was about a simple home purification that you take 2
ounces of warmed, liquefied ghee early in the morning, and then depending on if you are a vata, pitta or kapha, you should add certain herbs to the ghee.
Then for the next 5 to 7 days, apply 7 to 8
ounces of warned oil to your body. For Vata's, Sesame, Pitas should use sunflower and Kaphas, corn oil. After the oil is rubbed in, you take a hot shower and wash with neem soap.
This was the section right after therapeutic vomiting! (I knew many women in college performing this ritual).
Guess what, there was of course...Oil Pulling! Even though they didn't call it by that name. Even mentioned chewing a handful of calcium-rich white sesame seeds every morning! It called for the swishing of sesame oil for 2-3 minutes, then gently massaging your gums after, for a beautify smile and healthier teeth as well as to prevent receding gums, tooth infection and cavities.
We are really leaving an oily trail on this forum tonight gang.
