Re: I don't get it

Its very easy to test your theory. Use a steroid.
If our lip cells cant remember how to build the lips again, then a steroid shouldnt make any difference (as far as i know, steroids dont refresh cell memory). Now, i dont know about you, but if i use hydrocortisone 1%, my lips stop peeling, and they rebuild themselves just fine. That means my lips dont have a memory problem.
I actually think this cell memory theory doesn't make sense. Is that even possible? I dont think there is any empirical proof that such thing can happen. I mean, has anyone ever pick the skin of a mouse to see if it keeps peeling by itself? I dont think so (unless it gets infected).
Also, comparing our condition to that of drug addicts is not correct. Drug addicts inflict a chemical trauma to their cells. That would be like comparing ourselves with people who has been exposed to nuclear radiation. We simply picked our lips, thats a mechanical damage to the lip as a whole, not to the internal composition of individual cells. They shouldn't keep peeling.
Also, if our skin had a memory problem, they should not vary in severity, and the peeling area should be constant. Needless to say, thats not my case. My lips do get better and worse depending on what i do.
However, i do agree that this is not an internal problem either. Some might have internal problems, but it doesnt mean they are causing the lip symptoms.
Take care
