I agree with oopsadaisy.
As the Weston A. Price organization, particularly represented by Dr. Mary Enig teach, saturated fat is important for good health. I also disagree with the common theories on heart disease and clogged arteries.
Trans fat and saturated fat are NOT the same thing. At all.
People at curezone particularly like coconut oil because it is one of the more beneficial and pure sources of saturated fat. There is a forum here for coconut oil discussion, you might be interested.
Now, as far as your potato chips go... are you sure that they have saturated fat? Most chips these days are fried in vegetable oils. I don't think they would have many saturated fats in them, but it is quite possible that they would have trans fat. You would have to read the ingredients to know. In any case, potato chips aren't health food!
If you only eat chips once or twice a year and you are in reasonably good health, I don't see any problem, no matter what's in the chips. Eating your favorite junk food occasionally isn't the end of the world. That's my opinion, anyway.
