Re: Cultivating Prostate Health Through Sex
Gday from Australia Michael.
I thought the research about ejaculating was interesting.
Here's an excerpt:
Recent research from the Australian Cancer Council shows that
regular ejaculation helps ward off prostate cancer.
How'd they come to this conclusion? By surveying over 2300
men (both healthy and prostate cancer patients) about their
frequency of ejaculation - either from sex or from, er, other
things - from age 20 all the way up through their 50s.
Their findings: The more frequently men ejaculate during this
time span of their lives, the less likely they are to develop
prostate cancer - up to 33% less likely, in fact. And no, there
was no increased incidence of blindness, insanity or hair on
the palms in the cancer-free group, either...
Couple these findings with previous research which showed
celibate clergymen were 30 percent MORE LIKELY to develop
prostate cancer and you've got a 60+% swing in cancer rates
that are seemingly related to ejaculation.
One theory is that ejaculate is one of the male body's methods of excreting toxins.
Prolonged sexual activity (sexual intercourse or self-gratification) will also help exercise the muscles around your prostate so could also be helpful in this way.
Of course they are just theories. Notice that the reduction in prostate cancer is over a lifetime not a short period of time.
So taking matters into your own hand so to speak when you already have prostate disease may not be all that effective.
