A single thread can be distributed across 3 forums

Hanna,

when viewing your message, click on the "[Copy Thread]" button.

It will show you the distribution of that thread across forums.

A single thread can now be distributed across 3 forums.

When people are posting new messages, they can now choose to have message shown in 2 other forum. If you reply to it, your replies will become a part of the same thread, and will be shown in all forums where thread is visible.

Only one forum is the primary forum, and when you click on the message, message and thread will appear inside the primary forum.
